This indicates a rise in home values, which is further evidenced by Zillow’s home value “Zestimate” of $112,300 for Corpus Christi. Although the Zestimate is significantly lower than the median listing price, it represents an impressive 8.0% hike year-over-year.

Note that the data pulled from Zillow and Trulia do not necessarily reflect the most accurate measurements of the current market, as their data is calculated within different time frames. Again, it’s always best to consult with a real estate professional for the most accurate information.

One thing is for sure, however: Corpus Christi, despite being a great place to live, work and play, still has room for improvement in the real estate arena. The good news is that for first time home buyers or investors are likely to score a great deal on a reasonably-priced home. The bad news is sellers may be likely to take a loss if they decide to sell now, while the market is still struggling to recover.

As for what homes are actually selling for in Corpus Christi, reports that the median sales price is $45,250 – 42.3% lower than last year’s figure. This figure was based on only 8 home sales, which indicates that homes are still not moving at a sustainable rate. So while homes are gaining in value, the market has yet to catch up to other areas in the region.
